So pleased to see the Central Monitoring System installed and operating. Money for the System is being partly funded from funds raised by the Hellenic Club of Canberra via their Change for Children promotion. The new System enables the vital signs of multiple babies to be monitored at one station. There are two such stations in the NICU. This back-up system has already proven its value in alerting the monitoring Retrieval Nurse to a problem two bedside nurses were having with a baby. The two bedside nurses were too busy dealing with the emergency to raise the alarm but the monitoring nurse, was able to see there was a problem, raise the alarm and render assistance.
